With over 12 years experience as a marriage and family therapist, and as a graduate of California State University at Long Beach specializing in LGBT and gender studies, I am currently serving as a private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among my areas of expertise are transgender clientele and transitioning; lesbian, gay, and bisexual clientelle, and those clients who are gender-questioning.

Whether or not you are out of the closet with your parents, friends, or at work; having your therapist understand the issues that are unique to you is important. If your therapist is uninformed about gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual issues, it is not your job to inform them. Even if your therapist is not lesbian, gay, bisexual or a transgender person, they should be knowledgeable and supportive.
Relationships are hard work, yet they are one of the most rewarding pursuits we commit to in life. The good news is that if we commit to the work that relationship asks of us, the rewards will be more than we could ever imagine. I was born in the desert southwest to Irish immigrant grandparents who worked the copper mines and lived a storied life which they passed along to my mother.
